Along Came U-Turn Internet... The best way I could help others in business from what I learned was to first help them have an online presence. I realised that efficient site design and web hosting were the first steps that allowed that everyday business person to grow and become a world-wide success. Not all web hosts are created equal - I realised that there are a lot of 'dodgy' ones out there, offering far too much space and overloading their servers. I didn't want that to be a problem for my clients... I searched the world for the best - I found a server leasing space in the world's best datacentre with reliability, a quality support staff, and speeds unparalleled in New Zealand. Of course, this server space cost me a lot more than most companies would be willing to pay, but I realised that my clients would expect the best money could buy, and I didn't feel that server quality was an area I should 'cut costs' in. After I bought up fast and reliable server space in bulk and started selling it to 'friends of friends of friends' at very affordable prices, 'word-of-mouth' did its thing, and then I set up this website in order to offer the same deals to the public as I did to my 'friends of friends'. Things just grew from there, and that's why you're reading this today. Getting the Most from Your Web Site... I felt that the best way to help people with my skills was not to 'keep it all to myself' and contract out my services to only those who could afford to pay... I decided to write step-by-step guides and give them away for free. By allowing people to empower themselves, I could make a much bigger splash. I recently wrote the very popular Step-by-step How-To Make your Site Sell Guide, available to all, free of charge. I knew that if people benefited from the resources I gave them, they were much more likely to think 'uturn.net.nz' when they think 'web hosting'. A Little About Me... I guess you could say, I'm a very hardworking, 'goal-orientated' kinda guy. I'm committed to continual improvement and I have aspirations of 'making it to the top' by helping others get closer to their dreams through sharing what I know. I have a passion for people and a passion for 'making things work'. When I'm not working I love socialising, a quiet night relaxing, or a good game of tennis. I currently reside in North Shore City, New Zealand, with no immediate plans to move away from this small spot o' paradise. I never let technology get in the way of the human side of things... I feel that my clients would rather have a pragmatic business person with lots of online experience as their online business partner, rather than an 'internet tech head' with technical skills, but no idea how business, or business owners, operate.
